Banská Štiavnica is the mining heart and one the the most beautiful towns in Slovakia. The town was the main producer of silver and gold in the Kingdom of Hungary, center of innovation in mining industry and also the first mining school in the Kingdom of Hungary was founded here. Because of its historical value, the town and its surroundings were proclaimed by the UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site.
